About Little Stars Mill Park

Little Stars Early Learning & Kindergarten Mill Park provides high-quality education and care to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

Our mission is to promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of all children through a stimulating early learning and education experience. We also focus on the individual needs of each child and instil their desire to be lifelong learners.

Every child’s journey is overseen by accredited, friendly, caring, and attentive educators. Our carers foster inclusivity and create a space where each child can learn, play, develop, and participate in a way that reflects their unique strengths and interests. Little Stars Early Learning and Kindergarten is conveniently located in the heart of Mill Park. The centre has 6 modern, spacious, and climate-controlled rooms. All meals are planned and prepared by qualified nutritionists and chefs to help children develop good eating habits.

Our Programs

Nursery (0 – 2 years)

With our Nursery Program your infant will receive warmth, love, and security. Our carers will work closely with you to make sure that your little one receives the care and support they need to thrive, giving you total peace of mind.

During the Nursery Program your little one will participate in key activities to help them develop their:

Toddlers (2 – 3 years)

The Toddlers Program is designed to help children explore, learn, and express their needs. This involves encouraging toddlers to nurture their curiosity, explore their surroundings, and experience the world around them. Our carers facilitate these goals by encouraging toddlers to:

  • Use words and phrases that help them communicate and express themselves
  • Embrace the value of sharing and co-operation through group play
  • Gain the confidence to interact with others and build friendships

Kindergarten (3 – 5 years)

Children who reach the Kindergarten Program will start to develop a whole new range of skills. The aim of the Kinder Program is to encourage children to further pursue their independence and develop valuable self-help skills to assist them later in life. The program also helps children further develop their social, pre-literacy, and numeracy skills.

Other common Kindergarten activities include:

  • Artistic experiences
  • Musical and sensory experiences
  • Verbal communication activities – Group games, stories, social interaction, show and tell, and language games.

Enrolling your child at Little Stars is simple and can be done in just a few easy steps. First, get in touch with your preferred centre to check availability and arrange a tour. This is a great opportunity to meet our educators and explore our learning environments. Next, we’ll guide you through the enrolment process and help you complete the necessary forms..

If you’re applying for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), we’ll also provide support to ensure you understand the process and receive the maximum benefits you’re eligible for. It’s best to start early, especially if you’re planning to enrol in our 3-year-old or 4-year-old Kindergarten Program, as places can fill quickly.Our team is here to support you every step of the way!

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a government-funded support that helps families reduce the out-of-pocket cost of childcare. At Little Stars, we encourage families to apply through myGov before starting care. The amount you receive depends on your family income, activity level (work, study, or volunteering), and the type of care your child attends. can meet the team and have a look around. Until your CCS is confirmed, full daily fees will apply. If you need help applying or checking eligibility, our team is here to guide you through it.

Funded Kindergarten means your child may be eligible for up to 15 hours of free or low-cost kindergarten per week, delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher. This is supported by the Victorian Government for both 3-year-old and 4-year-old programs. Some families may even access the program at no cost, particularly if they:

• Hold a Health Care Card or eligible concession card
• Are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
• Are on a refugee or humanitarian visa
• Have multiple births (e.g., triplets)

If you're passionate about working with children and shaping young minds, you can begin your career with one of these nationally recognised courses:

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Both courses are available through TAFEs and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). With further study, you can also pursue a degree to become a kindergarten or early childhood teacher. We’re always on the lookout for dedicated educators, feel free to reach out to our team if you’re interested in joining Little Stars.

At Little Stars, we provide most of the essentials your child needs throughout the day, including healthy meals, nappies, linen, and sunscreen. To ensure your child is comfortable and ready to enjoy their day, we kindly ask families to bring a labelled water bottle, a hat, a spare set of clothes, and any comfort items such as a blanket or soft toy if needed. If your child requires formula or expressed milk, please include that as well. All items should be packed in a clearly labelled bag so our educators can easily identify them.
